Viola
Play two studies, by different authors, of comparable difficulty to those in the "Guida per lo Studio Elementare e Progressivo della Viola, Parte 1°: Elementi, Scale, piccoli Solfeggi, e Studi progressivi" (Milan, F. Lucca) by Eugenio Cavallini (1806-1881). The studies chosen shall differ in their technical and instrumental content.
Play one sonata (or other form requiring similar execution) for viola and basso continuo, or for viola and piano (fortepiano, harpsichord), transcribed from other instruments if desired.
Sight reading.
Violin
Scales and arpeggios in sol major, la major, ti flat major, with thirds and octaves;
Two studies by Kreutzer of 4 presented (2 with single strings, 1 with trills, 1 with double strings);
Play one movement from an early sonata.
Violoncello
Two movements from a suite by Bach chosen by the candidate
Three studies chosen by the candidate from those by D. Popper and F. Servais
