SUMMARY:'Organ Music in Germany from 1700 to 1900' - Organ Masterclass with Prof. Johannes Geffert
DESCRIPTION:Johannes Geffert \nJohannes Geffert grew up in the tradition of church music. After studies in Cologne (Michael Schneider) and England (with Nicolas Kynaston)\, he became organist of the Annakirche in 1974 and director of the Bachverein in Aachen (founding of the Aachen Bach Days). From 1980 to 1997 he continued his father’s musical legacy as church music director at the Kreuzkirche in Bonn. For many years he worked as a lecturer at the Robert-Schumann-Hochschule in Düsseldorf and from 1997 to 2015 as professor and head of the department of protestant church music at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne.\nConcerts take him to important organs in many countries\, and his CD recordings are highly praised by critics. Jury activities at international organ competitions\, editions especially of romantic organ music\, but also playing on historical keyboard instruments underline his artistic versatility. Geffert is hon. Vice-President of the English organists’ association AIO and member of the board of the Beethoven-Haus Bonn. \nCoordinator: Prof. Adriano Falcioni

SUMMARY:ElettroBe@t Collective concert for sax and live electronics\, audiovisuals and electroacoustic multi-channel surround music in 8.2.4 format
DESCRIPTION:Elettro(be)@t Monteverdi Conservatory\nFollow the live video streaming and view the complete programme \nhttps://linktr.ee/mediastaff.monteverdi \n \nA very special\, different\, singular concert. There will be various types of languages united by the common thread of electronic music: from a multimedia collective show for saxophone and live electronics\, with the participation of saxophonist and colleague Pepito Ros and the Monteverdi Sax Quartet\, we will move on to sensational audiovisual productions and multi-channel electroacoustic music compositions. \nThe concert has been conceived for a non-expert audience\, so it is open to everyone\, even those who are less passionate about electroacoustic music\, because even experimental music must always convey emotions\, as this is the goal of music in general. \nThe concert will be streamed live on the Conservatory’s YouTube channel for those who cannot attend in person\, with binaural audio for an immersive experience. \nWe look forward to seeing you there! \nProf. Gustavo Delgado

SUMMARY:Georg Friedrich Haas 'Thinking in Music' - International Study Meeting and Composition Masterclass
DESCRIPTION:Full event programme\nMonteverdi_convegno Haas_programma \nFollow the live video streaming and view the complete programme \nhttps://linktr.ee/denken.in.musik \n \nFrom 5 to 10 June\, the international study meeting “Georg Friedrich Haas – Thinking in music”\, organised by the Monteverdi Conservatory in Bolzano\, will take place at the Kolpinghaus in Bolzano. The meeting will be attended by the Austro-American composer himself (Graz 1953)\, considered the greatest living composer of serious music. Haas\, whose monumental composition 11000 Saiten for 50 pianos with scordatura and 25 instruments will have its world premiere on 1 August at FieraMesse in Bolzano as part of the Busoni Festival\, will hold masterclasses at the Kolpinghaus for around fifty composition students from all over Italy and German-speaking countries. A lecture series on the life and works of Haas and two concerts complete the event\, which is free of charge for all interested parties. \nCoordination: Prof. Pierluca Lanzilotta \n\nGeorg Friedrich Haas\nGeorg Friedrich Haas\nGeorg Friedrich Haas was born in Graz in 1953 and has been teaching Composition since 2013 at the Columbia University in New York. He is considered “the most important living composer” according to a poll held in 2017 by the Italian journal Classic Voice\, which also declared his composition in vain (2000) as the greatest work of art music since 2000. He is the leading exponent of spectral music\, that is he uses acoustic properties of sound such as microintervals and the overtone series as a basis for composition. Thus he has disavowed the intellectualism of some strands of modernist music. He wrote that music is able „to articulate a human being’s emotions and states of the soul in such a way that other human beings can embrace these emotions and states of the soul as their own“.

SUMMARY:Academic Year Opening Concert
DESCRIPTION:ACADEMIC YEAR OPENING CONCERT\nsaturday · 04.12.2021 8.00 p.m.
